Every month I have to remind myself of my goals for 2017. They are:
- Write an essay a week.
- Finish the first draft of A Valley of Fear
- Offer online courses to writers
- Submit essays, poems, plays
- Overthrow the patriarchy
I’m still writing an essay every week. I’m currently working on #9 and hope to catch up this week and also write #10. #8 took me two weeks to complete.
In spite of my best efforts, I’m now convinced I won’t get back to work on Valley of Fear until after I wrap up my six months commitment to ROAR. I’m loving working for ROAR, and if they ask me to stay longer, I will.
I don’t know when I’ll offer the online courses. A bit of work needs to happen on my website before that, and both are on the back burner at the moment.
I continue to submit essays, poems, and plays. I have two plays with public readings here in San Diego next week. One at Diversionary, and one at Scripteasers.
I’m overthrowing the patriarchy with my writing, with my direct actions of resistance, and by standing up for the oppressed.
We’re into the third month of 2017 already. How are you doing on your own goals for this year?
