2015 OFF TO GOOD START #mondayblogs #writing #poetry

Except for the fact I keep forgetting to write my bog on Monday … the year is shaping up nicely. I have two book signings lined up (one in Feb, one in June), I’m writing a poem every day (see Red Crested Poet), and I’m back to work on the WIP (work in progress), the third novel in the Shirley Combs/Dr. Mary Watson mystery series.

Now if only I had a yoga class in my building two or three times a week, I’d be all set. I need to see if I can put that into motion somehow. We have a lovely room that is mostly unused, and I’m betting we have plenty of people who would take said yoga class. What I need is a gentle yoga teacher, and permission from the building management.

How do you take care of your body? Writers often do not get regular exercise, as we’re so devoted to keeping our butts in the chairs in order to write. So, what do YOU do?

  1. Sandra, I’m glad about all this. You’re an inspiration.

    What I do for movement is walk (with a little yoga on the side). I have an agreement with my goddaughter, Anna, to walk at the same time every day. She’s in Santa Barbara and I’m here in Portland, but we check in either before or after every day’s walk to support one another. It’s a five-day-a-week arrangement, and it’s working.

  2. Andrea, thanks so much for writing. I’m betting your note will inspire others, because now I want to find someone who will walk at the same time I do. I know I’d get out more with that arrangement. I also have seen some photos each of you took on the same day in your different locales. Brilliant!
